Gem and Jo Review Makeup Revolution

Following up from our last Makeup Revolution post, which you can check out here, we decided to get some more of their fabulous products!

We picked up one of their very popular 32 Piece eyeshadow palettes and a gorgeous 8 shade cheek and bronzer palette, and boy are they pretty! It's killing Gem to even consider using them (she's a little strange and likes to keep makeup brand new...weirdo...)

Makeup Revolution Ultra Eyeshadow in Affirmation: €11.27 (£8.00)

The packaging of these products is so sleek and clean, and as a plus, it's really sturdy so travelling with these shouldn't be a problemo!
There are a couple of the 32 piece palettes to choose from and as lovers of both shimmers and mattes we went with Affirmation. It has a collection of pinky-nude colours that will be perfect for just about any occasion and the shimmers will be excellent for when we need a little glam!
Also, this palette comes with a completely matte black eyeshadow that is gonna work wonders as an eyeliner when we don't want the hassle of liquid liner.

Honestly, how pretty are the shades in this palette?? It pretty much has a colour for every occasion and for that we salute you Makeup Revolution!

Makeup Revolution Ultra Blush palette in Hot Spice: €8.41 (£6.00)

We kinda wish this palette said "Blush" on the actual palette's packaging, we think it's really cute! But alas, the packaging is kinda plain, a little boring but that is not to say the inside is not super exciting!!

This cheek and bronzer palette is the epitome of pretty! The shades are a really summery peach tone and the highlighter is to die for! Plus there's a blush/highlighter combo shade for when you want the ultimate glowy-look!

There are some shimmery shades, which we were a little iffy about at first but we will learn to love them because they are beautiful on the skin! Plus there's also matte shades that will compliment our super oily faces perfectly!

This palette is the perfect palette for summer, and the darker shades will take you right into Autumn/Winter meaning it's a general all rounder. At £6.00 for 8 blushes you can't go wrong with this absolute beaut!

We will definitely be looking up some more products from Makeup Revolution, they are playing a blinder right now and we are excited to see what they do in future!

What do you think of Makeup Revolution?

Gem and Jo Take on H&M Face Masks

While we were out and about in Dublin city center yesterday we popped into H&M for a little look and we saw a whole rack of face masks that looked super interesting and in the wise words of Macklemore "It was 99 cents!" (i.e. the face masks cost just 99 cents, hello bargain!).
We picked up 3 different masks to try, one for each of us and one for Jo's sister, Jenny!

First off we used Clarin's Gentle Peeling smooth away cream, to get rid of any residual makeup and whatnot!

Afterwards our faces were super smooth and ready to receive those gorgeous smelling H&M face masks!
Jo's Pick:
So my pick was a raspberry smoothie pore cleansing mask and boy does it smell good! I applied this all over my face, avoiding the eye and mouth area and waited for it to dry for about 10-15 minutes. I then rinsed it off with a facecloth and warm water and then marveled at how soft my face was.
I think this mask really did it's job and at only 99 cents, I will definitely be re-purchasing! Also the smell of it made it a real pleasure to have on my face.

Gem's Pick:

Right, so I picked a cucumber peel off mask because I really liked the idea of it peeling off my face! Yes I am that childish. Anyway this mask smells good, does good and feels good. All that for just 99 cents seems to good to be true, right? Nope, it is the utmost truth and I think everyone should buy these masks so they can revel in the amazing feeling these masks give you!
The cucumber really soothed my skin after a long day of wearing makeup and the fact that it peeled off meant every piece of grime was gone from my skin. Like Jo I left my mask on for 10-15 minutes until it was dry, some parts were still a little wet but that's because I piled it on! A thin layer would dry pretty quick if you weren't willing to sit still that long!

Jenny's Pick:

Jenny picked a grapefruit deep pore cleansing mask which funnily enough was bright green when she put it on her face! Now Jenny has quite sensitive skin and this mask stung a little at the very beginning but before long the stinging had stopped and she felt it was actually quite comforting. Like Jo's this mask had a creamy texture but a cooling effect on the skin which she said was very refreshing!

We had a little competition going on as to who would laugh first and crack their mask before the 10 minutes was up and with the lot of us singing Backstreet Boys and 5ive, it was tough but we stuck it out and in the end had wonderfully soft and supple faces!

We definitely recommend these face masks and will 100% be going back for some more! You can find them at H&M stores.
Check out their website here
Thanks for reading, as always and let us know if you have ever tried these face masks, or any other brands in the comments below!

Gem and Jo's Mini Haul.

On a recent trip to the cinema to see Maleficent, we did a little detour and had a peak in some shops and as girls, it was inevitable that we were gonna buy stuff .
It wasn't a huge haul, we only got a few things but what we did get was gorgeous and were wonderfully inexpensive!

So the first thing we bought was Wet n Wild's Megalast salon nail colour in the shade "On a Trip". It was €2.99 and we bought it in Dunnes Stores. We can't wait to try it out and when we do, we shall let you know what we think!

Also by Wet n Wild was this IdolEyes cream eyeshadow pencil, in the colour "Pixie". This cost just €2.99 aswel and is a beautiful champagne-ish shade with a hint of shimmer!  This is a great product because you can wear it alone, under eyeshadow for staying power or to highlight the inner corner of your eyes!! It really is super buy and is the perfect price for an everyday look!

After that we headed to H&M where we bought this adorable little necklace! It was only €2.99 and would look great on it's own or layered with other pieces! We love H&M for their inexpensive yet stylish jewelery, they really know what we want and how much we're willing to pay! Good job H&M, good job.

So there ya go, our very mini haul! Hope you enjoyed this tinie tiny post and liked the products we got!
Until Next Time!
