Gem and Jo Review Makeup Revolution's Flawless 2

Now this is one pretty palette! And, you guessed it, it's from Makeup Revolution! So not only is it gorgeous, it's also super affordable.
This one here is a follow on from their Flawless palette and it's very originally named Flawless 2. But we won't hold the name against them, the palette is just far too lovely for that. We're slightly in love!

Compared to Flawless, this palette has a few more mattes and a few less shimmers. Plus it's a whole lot brighter, in fact the majority of the shades are quite bright and highlighting. Perfect for base shadows or for blending darker shades.
As with all of the Makeup Revolution, the packaging for the palette is nice and sturdy, perfect for travel or for when you accidentally chuck it on the ground.

We are loving using any of the lighter, matte shades for a base colour and then we pop one of the warm brown tones into the crease to create a simple, day time look. Chuck a little of the shimmery light shades into your inner corner for a highlight and to create a bright, wide eye look. Wanna look even more awake and bushy-tailed? Put some of the light shimmer shades under the lower lash line, just in the very center of your eye. This will really accentuate your eyes and make you seem alive, even if you have slept through 7 alarms.

Heading to the pub after work? Chuck this in your makeup bag and use the darker shades to create a more sultry look in just a few seconds! Simples!

Gem and Jo React To: American Horror Story S5 E1

Well we can safely say that we never, ever want to watch this show again. Ever. We are scarred for life.
What an utterly horrifying television show. Who in god's name created that, and why is it so popular? You people are crazy for wanting to be that scared. And don't even get us started you people who aren't scared. You'd have to be madder than a bag of spiders to like that.

If you want to see our reaction to seeing another American Horror Story episode then for your viewing pleasure, the video is down below.

*Spoiler* We got about 15 minutes in and that was it. We nearly vomited.

Got any other shows you want us to react to? Give us a shout in the comments!

Gem and Jo's Irish Music

To celebrate Seachtain Ná Gaelige (pronounced: shocktin nah gwail-i-ga) or Irish Week, we have decided to be good Irish folk and share our favourite Irish music with you guys! We know when you hear the words "Irish Music" images of fiddles and dancers with their arms super-glued to their sides probably sweep into your head, and while that kind of music can be a good bit of fun, there's more to Irish Music than that. So throw down your fiddle and bodhrán (pronounced: bough-ron), and let us share with you some of the Irish bands that we have been loving!

 Delorentos

These guys are probably one of our favourite Irish bands. With their great lyrics and super catchy indie pop melodies its no wonder that these guys are so popular in Ireland. Their latest album is just great and if you get the chance to see these guys live, go! (that's an order, not a suggestion). Check out their song 'Forget the Numbers' and we swear you'll be hooked.

All Tvvins

If you play Fifa, you've probably heard the genius that is All Tvvins. These guys haven't even released their first album yet and have already gathered a growing fan base abroad and in Ireland. We have had their song 'Darkest Ocean' on repeat!

Two Door Cinema Club
We have always been big fans of Two Door Cinema Club. Their brand of indie pop is so upbeat it just puts you in a good mood!We have loved their last two albums and with rumours of new material on the horizon we can't wait to hear what they come out with next. Check out their song 'Something Good Can Work', it'll forever be our summer song.

Otherkin
Looking for something a little bit heavier, look no further than Otherkin. Another band that hasn't released their debut album yet but seem to be gaining fans by the minute. If you're into The Strokes or The Hives you are sure to like these guys.

Bell X1
Honestly there isn't much that we can say about these guys except that they're great. A little poppy at times and a little rocky at others. While we haven't heard anything new from these guys in a while, they have started touring again which is just awesome. Check out 'White Water Song' one of our favourites that we think is often overlooked!

These are only a few of our favourite Irish bands. Honestly we could probably write an entire book if we included them all (in fact there's an idea!).

Have you heard of these band before? Give them a listen and tell us what you think? We'd love to know.

Gem and Jo's ASOS Wishlist

ASOS, what a wonderful, wonderful website. Well maybe it's not wonderful for our bank accounts, but everyone needs a treat every now and then. Perhaps we can take that a little too literal, we do love to treat our wardrobes to new additions.

If you've never treated yourself to the amazing site that is ASOS, then you need to get on that. It's just incredible. Not only do they have some amazing, high end brands but they also have absolutely incredible sales! And we're talking things reduced to under €10 if you're looking in the right places. It can be really overwhelming and hard to filter through the sheer amount of clothing and whatnot, but when you know where to go and what to click then you can find crazy bargains.

Here's a round up of the things we've had our eye on lately:

London Rebel Flat Sandals : €23.94 (On Sale)
These are just so summery and we are all for that right now, despite the weather not playing the game here in Ireland. But you can never be too prepared for summer: sandals, sun dresses, and a metric ton of sun cream. Plus, these babies are on sale, and who can pass up a bargain?

Keeping on with that summer trend, we just couldn't pass this top by. How gorgeous are the inserts, plus they'll provide handy ventilation during those hot months we call summer. And guess what, this one is on sale too! Gotta love sale items!

This is one cute little dress, and it comes in Black too! What you can't see is the back is somewhat open in a little triangle where the shirt opens and the skirt stops, it's all very cute and girly. Plus it's only 17 quid. Which means you could buy the pink and the black dress for just over €35. Bargain!

Did we mention ASOS also do random things? Yup, and they're the best at it. You'll be scrolling through dress after dress and suddenly up pops a phone case in the shape of a happy shark. These paperchase notebooks are the cutest and yet again, they're in the sale! In fact, BRB we're off to buy these little cuties.

These skirts are everywhere at the moment but it's tough to find one in the perfect denim colour. We've been searching for ages and this one from New Look (which is available on ASOS) seems good to us! Not a dark denim and it has just the right amount of blue, plus it doesn't look that short. That's been another struggle all together with these skirts.
Sadly this one isn't on sale, but it would be a good investment piece that would see us all the way through to Autumn/Winter.

Be sure to check out the "Outlet" section of ASOS's website, which is where most of this wishlist came from, it's where all the bargains are. And don't forget to switch the settings to "low to high" for the price. You can get things for super cheap when you have a good ole search on there!

Have you shopped on ASOS before? Have you found any bargains worth sharing?

Gem and Jo's Monthly Music

Who doesn't love some good tunage? Honestly we don't think life would be much fun without some really good music to rock out to. Whether it's helping us to get out of bed in the morning, making our commute to work a bit more bearable, or getting us pumped up for a night out, we need some seriously good music to get us though the day. Here's some of the songs that we have been playing constantly this past month.

Beck- Dreams
Just in case you didn't know, Beck's music is awesome. Seriously he's some dude. We have been loving this song lately. It's just so upbeat and fun. We dare you to try and be in a bad mood and listen to this. Honestly we don't think it's possible. Also if you enjoy yourself some Beck be sure to check out his version of  Bowie's Sound and Vision, it's simple amazing.

The Jungle Giants - She's a Riot
This song just screams spring (okay not literally, that would be kind of scary). The Jungle Giants are always good for some upbeat tunes and this one is no exception. We love sticking this on in the car and singing along at the top of our lungs (that doesn't make us weirdos does it?).

Catfish and the Bottlemen - Soundcheck
A little bit heavier than the first two picks but still just as good, we pretty much love anything Catfish and the Bottlemen put out. This is their latest single and we have been playing it non-stop. It's just a goodie.

Tame Impala - The Less I Know the Better
The Rhyming scheme in this song is just lovely. Take a listen and experience it for yourself.

Saint Motel- My Type
You may have heard this song in few ads lately, it seems to be just about everywhere. But who cares, it's brilliant. super upbeat, fun and honestly makes you want to dance (even if you are incredibly bad dancers like ourselves. Honestly we look like we're going to break something).

We have been loving these songs over the past while and we hope that you guys get a good kick out of them as well.

What songs have been rocking your boat lately? We would love to know!

Gem and Jo's February Favourites 2016

Here we are yet again, another month flew by. We feel like we didn't even have a February, did we have one? Did we just skip it? Even with the extra day this year we didn't notice it pass us by so quickly. Damn time, slipping through our fingers! Quickly, we must seize the day! Someone get the motivational posters about not missing one single moment...

Here's what we loved this past month!

What did you love during February? Did it pass you by just as quick?

Gem and Jo Talk TV (Spring 2016)

While we are quite the little busy bees recently, we love to kick back, eat crap and watch some telly. Who doesn't? It's nice to relax every now and then. In fact, we feel like most people don't do it enough. We're always rushing around and looking at our phones. But let's face it, that's life these days. Who are we to try and change it. So lets sit back, eat chocolate and popcorn and watch telly while also tweeting about the tv show and what we're eating.

Here's some of the tv shows we'll be watching in the coming weeks!

Total Divas
Source: hulu.com
We are seriously addicted to this show! The drama, the bitchiness, the crazy outfits! Ugh! We love it! Our friend Megan introduced us to this crazy world and we could not thank her more. If you haven't watch this one and love the likes of the Kardashians and ANTM, you need to get on that. It's good we promise.
Hawaii Five-0
Source: imdb.com
We'll admit it, the reason we started watching this was for the gorgeous island it's filmed on but then we saw Steve McGarrett's face and we were hooked. In fairness his whole body is to thank for our continued viewing. It's a crime show, but with a few odd twists and turns. Definitely worth the watch.
100 Code
source: amazon.com
This one is not for the faint hearted! It's another crime show (we like these alot) but it's set in Sweden. Now, if you're not into subtitles and the odd foreign language thrown in, then you probably won't enjoy this one. But we love that we're learning a little Swedish when we watch this. Educational! An extra to this show? The theme song is brilliant! Definitely watch this one, but it's one of those that needs to be watched from the very start. You definitely won't be able to pick this up along the way.
Lucky Man
source: celebrityworldwide.com
A bit cheesy, but sure who doesn't love a little cheese. It's created by Stan Lee and this is the one for all you Marvel lovers out there! The story revolves around a cop in London who comes across a magic bracelet, sounds a bit crazy, we know but don't let that turn you away. This one has all of the mystery of a crime drama with a little superhero flair thrown in. Also James Nesbitt's accent is just lovely.

There ya have it, the tv shows we'll be indulging in while we wait longingly for the summer!

You watch these? Let us know in the comments or recommend some more for us!
