Gem and Jo's Monthly Music

Who doesn't love some good tunage? Honestly we don't think life would be much fun without some really good music to rock out to. Whether it's helping us to get out of bed in the morning, making our commute to work a bit more bearable, or getting us pumped up for a night out, we need some seriously good music to get us though the day. Here's some of the songs that we have been playing constantly this past month.

Beck- Dreams
Just in case you didn't know, Beck's music is awesome. Seriously he's some dude. We have been loving this song lately. It's just so upbeat and fun. We dare you to try and be in a bad mood and listen to this. Honestly we don't think it's possible. Also if you enjoy yourself some Beck be sure to check out his version of  Bowie's Sound and Vision, it's simple amazing.

The Jungle Giants - She's a Riot
This song just screams spring (okay not literally, that would be kind of scary). The Jungle Giants are always good for some upbeat tunes and this one is no exception. We love sticking this on in the car and singing along at the top of our lungs (that doesn't make us weirdos does it?).

Catfish and the Bottlemen - Soundcheck
A little bit heavier than the first two picks but still just as good, we pretty much love anything Catfish and the Bottlemen put out. This is their latest single and we have been playing it non-stop. It's just a goodie.

Tame Impala - The Less I Know the Better
The Rhyming scheme in this song is just lovely. Take a listen and experience it for yourself.

Saint Motel- My Type
You may have heard this song in few ads lately, it seems to be just about everywhere. But who cares, it's brilliant. super upbeat, fun and honestly makes you want to dance (even if you are incredibly bad dancers like ourselves. Honestly we look like we're going to break something).

We have been loving these songs over the past while and we hope that you guys get a good kick out of them as well.

What songs have been rocking your boat lately? We would love to know!

So here it is our round up of some of our favourite Christmas songs.

There are no words for how hilarious this song is.

This video is the most 90's thing you can watch ever.
Prepare for flashbacks.

Gem and Jo's Best Biscuits.

Happy Cookie Day!! What a beautiful holiday, everyone should get the day off work and school to eat cookies all day. If you're not able to get off work, your boss should supply 10 tons of biscuits to the workplace. We say so, therefore it must happen!

Sadly that probably won't happen but it would be very nice! So to make you even more hungry than you probably are, here are our favourite biscuits that deserve a day of celebration too.

Lotus Biscoff:
These are amazing dipped in tea!

McVitie's Caramel Digestives

McVities Penguin Bars
we know, we know not a 'biscuit' per se, but could you imagine having a cup of tea without one of these? We didn't think so.
Top Tip: Bite off both ends and suck tea up through the middle! Trust us, Just do it.

Cadbury's Crunchie Biscuits

Cadbury's Chocolate Fingers
And the white chocolate ones? Ugh so much delicious-ness and too little biscuits in a pack
Also Life Hack: if you go to Euro Giant, you can get a BAG of chocolate fingers for €1!!! A bag full of chocolate! For a euro!!! Good job Euro Giant, good job.

Oreos!
Of course these were going to be on this list! They're delicious!

Maryland Big and Chunky White Chocolate Brownie Cookies
If you haven't tried these, you need to go to Tesco right now and eat them!!
(Actually pay for them then eat them!)

Tesco Chunky Chocolate Cookies

What are your favourite biscuits? Do you dip in tea or bite and drink? These are the important questions!

Gem and Jo's October Favourites

It's not October anymore. Who would have guessed it? Well it was October and we filmed our October favourites video to share with you guys on the last day of October (think we need a few more Octobers in that sentence! October , October, October... Yeah that should do it!).  However life got in the way (trust us if you had as many college assignments as us you'd understand). So here it is... perhaps a little late, but as they say better late than salty (no that can't be right, can it?).

What are your October favourites?

Gem and Jo's Favourite Eyeshadow Palettes

We love eye shadow, we mean who doesn't? And what better way to have eye shadow then in a pretty little palette! Here's are a little round up of the eye shadow palettes that we love.

Gem's Favourites:
Estée Lauder Christmas 2013 Palette
This palette, although extremely difficult to photograph, is gorgeous and is great for creating night or day looks. It contains both shimmer and matte shadows, which makes it one of my go-to palettes most days. The consistency of the powders is really creamy and they are incredibly easy to blend! I cannot speak highly enough of the Estée Lauder eye shadow range!
When I'm travelling I generally only take this palette with me, it literally suits any occasion and you can create so many diverse looks with just a few of these shades. When I'm stuck I even use the matte brown to fill in my eyebrows! I love to use the shimmery grey to create a subtle, day time smoky eye. As you can probably tell, my favourite are the brightest shades at the top of the palette, they are amazing as base colours and to add a bit of brightness to the inner corner of your eye.
Check out Estée Lauder's website Here
(Keep an eye out for their Christmas gift set for 2014, they are always gorgeous!)

Ted Baker "Can't Take My Eyes Off You" Palette
This palette was a gift from our good friend Chloe last Christmas and I have loved it ever since. Just like the Estée Lauder palette, this one can create so many different looks. It has neutrals and brights which means you could go for a simple day time look or go wild with a deep blue smoky eye. All the shadows in this palette are shimmery and look gorgeous in the sunlight!
The creamy texture of these powders makes them a pleasure to blend, either together or with another brand. I love to use the brown in the crease of my eye and then I use the light pink to give my look a really feminine feel with the lightest shade giving a hint of brightness in the inner corner. The only thing I would change about this palette is the packaging, it's a strong cardboard but I have to be super gentle when I open it so I don't rip it in half. (No I'm not the Hulk, the packaging is just a little soft)

Take a look at the Ted Baker makeup collection at Boots Here

e.l.f. Cosmetics Eye Enhancing Eye shadows
This palette is a lifesaver for those days when you just cannot wake up enough to show it in your eyes. I call it my Monday Palette. Usually when a product says 'eye enhancing' I think "ye right!" but this one does not lie. It seriously makes your eyes seem so much brighter and awake! I love this palette!
Using a combination of nearly all the shadows, I love to create a really bright, yet natural, look that turns my Monday morning gloominess around. The hint of shimmer in each shadow really lifts and opens your eyes to make you seem more awake, even if you are falling asleep in that 9am lecture! I especially love the packaging of this palette, it's sleek, small and sturdy which makes it perfect for in your on the go makeup bag!
Check out e.l.f. cosmetic's website Here
Jo's Favourites:

Stila Natural Beauty Eye Shadow Palette
Who doesn't love a neutral eye? It's one of the easiest things to wear and to create and goes with just about everything. I absolutely love this palette and it's one of my go to palettes for an everyday natural eye. It's super rare that you find an eye shadow palette where every eye shadow is actually usable but this one is like a diamond in the rough. Every eye shadow in this palette looks great either by itself or paired together and it contains both matte and shimmer eye shadows.

The shadows themselves are super pigmented and last a long time on the eye, especially when paired over a eye primer. It's great for travel too, as its super slim and you can create tonnes of looks with it. Seriously just love it. Check Stila's website out here.

Sleek Cosmetic's I-Divine Eye shadow Palette in Au Naturel
I may have a slight problem when it comes neutral eye shadow palettes, but I mean who doesn't need like a dozen? This palette is one of my favourites. The shadows are super de duperly pigmented and really show up on the eye. The palette has great lighter and darker neutrals that can be paired together to create some really great looks.

This palette also has a variety of matte and shimmer eye shadows and has a great base colour and a matte black colour which would be great to use as an eye liner. Oh and I haven't told you the best thing about this palette. It's only €9.99! I know what you're thinking, "what Jo? All this for only €9.99?". Yes that's right all this for just €9.99 (yeah I know I sound like a crazy television shopping advert).

Sleek Cosmetic's I-Divine Eye Shadow Palette in Vintage Romance
After a good ole neutral eye, I loves me a pop of purple and this palette delivers on both the neutral and the purple. This palette has some lovely golden shades and some really great purple shades. Most of the shadows in this palette are shimmery and make for a great glam or night time look. The Palette also has a great matte brownie colour with is great in the crease.

The shadows in this palette are super pigmented and really last. This is my go to palette when I want to either add a pop of colour to my normal neutral look or when I want to step it up a notch and go for an intense night time look. And..... (drum roll please)... You can get this palette for only €9.99 as well. Check out Sleek's website here. You can also Find Sleek cosmetics on Cloud10beauty.com also from every order placed with Cloud 10 beauty this month, €1 will be donated to the Irish Cancer Society. This way you can get yourself lots of pretty beauty items, and help a good cause all at the same time. Can't get much better than that if you ask us.
So there you have it, our favourite eye shadow palettes. We'd love to know what you're favourite eye shadow palettes are and if you have any of the ones above. Hope you enjoyed this post and as always thanks for reading.

Gem and Jo's July Favourites

So it's August. Can you believe it, cause we can't. July went by so fast and before we knew it we had a whole lot of new products to show you guys. Here are our July favourites.
Gem's Favourites:

Pandora Breast Cancer Awareness Necklace.
This necklace is so adorable, has a lovely weight to it and a nice length chain, so hangs really nicely whether you wear it with a dress or a shirt. Plus proceeds go to Breast Cancer research which means you're giving to a charity and have a gorgeous necklace too.
This necklace has unfortunately been discontinued but maybe you're local stores have some left!
check out Pandora Here

Pearl Drops Beauty Sleep Serum
This stuff seems to work a miracle! It's for use after you brush your teeth at night and you simply brush it off in the morning. Now my teeth weren't exactly yellow but they just needed a little brightening and this has definitely worked, a confidence boost that was direly needed.
It can be bought in Boots for €4.49 Here

Dove Go Fresh Deodorant
This stuff smells so good!!! I mean it's pomegranate, so how couldn't you smell good! As an anti-perspirant it works brilliantly and it makes you smell good all day long! There's also a body wash available in the same scent! Heaven!
Buy it from Tesco Here

Wet n Wild H2O Proof liquid eyeliner
I have been wearing this eyeliner all month and it is serious stuff. I does not budge all day long and is definitely waterproof (I tested it in the shower just for you guys, Wet n Wild: 1, Gemma: 0). The applicator has a really nice feel to it and is really easy to use, which is always a bonus!
I use Ultra Black, E881
Buy it Here

Tommy Hilfiger Denim Jacket.
I live in this jacket. My mam convinced me to buy it a couple of years ago when it was on sale and true to her word, I never take it off. I think it looks good with practically everything I own and when it gets a little chilly I stick a hoodie underneath and boom, it looks just a good.
Check out Hilfiger's site Here

Jo's favourites:

Gillette Venus Breeze razor heads.
I have been loving these razor heads over the past month. They have a shave gel bar built in which means that you don't need to use shaving foam along with them. And as opposed to some other razor heads that claim to give an easier shave, these actually work. Great for travel and these will fit any gillette razor.
Check out their website here
Buy them here

No7 Stay perfect lipstick in the colour sweet lips.
This lipstick is a great purple(y) pink colour and is great if you want a little more colour on your lips but don't want to go all out. This lipstick is matte too, which I love, and stays on your lips for ages. I got mine from boots and they almost always have a coupon for money off No7 beauty products so you should definitely check it out.
You can Find it here

Pantene Pro V 2 min Deep smoothening Masque for normal to thick hair.
This masque is great for those of us who have frizzy hair. I have used this masque all month and I can really feel a difference on the days that I use it. I use this in the shower by first shampooing my hair, then applying this product before putting my hair in a bun. I then wash my face etc and then rinse it out. It really does work.
Check out their website here

Sleek cosmetics eyeshadow pallet in the colour sunset
I love sleek eyeshadow pallets and this one is no exception. With this pallet you can create really gorgeous looks, especially beautiful bronzed looks which I have been loving this past month. The shadows have incredible pigmentation and at €9.99 a pallet it is an absolute steal.
Get it on the sleek website

Style Pen Nail polish remover pads with the scent of lemon.
These Nail polish remover pads are great for travel. They have 32 pads in the pack and take off your polish with ease. They also smell like lemon which is awesome. They come in a few different scents as well so if lemon isn't your thing that's okay.
Find them here at bluescandal.com

So there you have it, the round up of the products we have been loving this past month. Don't forget to let us know what products you have been loving in the comments below ( we love to hear from you). Oh and don't forget to subscribe to both the blog and our youtube channel.

Gem and Jo's Apps of the Moment

As young, technologically savvy girlos, we both have iPhones and with that comes a multitude of apps! Here is a list of our favourite apps of the moment!

Gem's list

Wattpad: online community of people who write novels and poetry.
It's a great app and everytime you open it there is new stories! While there are the odd few that are very young authors the majority of them are excellent writers and often get picked up by publishers from this app!
It's a great way to get your work out there or if you just like to read like myself!

Moves: tracks your steps, workouts and in general where you go.
It's excellent if you're conscious of how much exercise you do everyday and it's free!
The only downfall of this app is the fact you need to have location settings on all the time or it doesn't track.
TVN: Live Weather, Live Chasing: this is a live stream from the cars of storm chasers across America! If you're interesting in storms, tornadoes and hurricanes this is a great app! it even provides an up to date map of where each chaser is located!
Some chasers often talk to the audience and explain why the weather systems occur, which is great for us budding chasers!
TwoDots: This app is kind of mindless but very addictive, while it is fun to play it for a while, running out of lives and having to wait for more becomes tiresome. Still I do keep returning to play it!

Piano Tiles: a game of skill and incredibly addicting, I have my whole family playing it! It gets progressively harder and is very challenging! It's a brilliant game!

Jo's List

ASOS: This is the app for the clothing website ASOS. Through this app you can browse and buy all sorts of clothes and accessories. You can even save items to your favourites to check out later. I love this app as ASOS literally has everything! Plus who doesn't like a bit of window shopping.
Candy Crush: Who doesn't know what this app is? If you haven't heard of it, have you been living in a cave for the past few years, because this app is literally everywhere. This game is seriously addictive and despite there being levels, it is a false sense of progress because you never really get to the end. It's torture and excitement all in one app, and who doesn't want that!?!

Sleep Pillow: This App is pretty much a basic sound soother, with sounds such as running water and waves. I used this app a good bit in the last month as I was traveling quite a lot. I'm not the most comfortable flyer and  this helped cover up the sound of the plane, while making it still soothing enough to help me fall asleep. Also it's free which is great as a lot of sound soothers aren't

AcuWeather: This app gives you accurate weather forecasts for your area. This app is pretty essential living in Ireland as we can literally experience all four seasons within a day and it's hard to know what weather to dress for when leaving the house. It also provides you with a frizzy hair forecast and predicts which sports the weather is suitable for.

Charades: This app is great craic when you have a large group of people! You can choose a category and it presents you with a topic which others must act out in order for you to guess it. Each round can contain many different topics or words. This is literally bucket loads of fun! And can be more difficult than it sounds and it is hilarious watching people struggle to act it out.

We also have a couple of apps that we both love such as Buzzfeed, Snapchat and iTube!
Thanks for reading and don't forget to tell us what apps you're loving at the moment!
Until Next Time!!
